Fish Leong Sings Her Way to Hong Kong Coliseum
Adjust font size:

Chinese Malaysian pop singer Fish Leong took to the stage at the Hong Kong Coliseum for the first time on Monday.

The coliseum serves as a performance venue for top Chinese musicians.

Tens of thousands of fans crowded the venue to honour their idol, leaving the 12,500-seat coliseum close to capacity.

The influx of enthusiastic listeners surprised the show's organizer, because Fish Leong only held a press conference to announce the show, instead of initiating hyped promotions.

Among the audience was Fish Leong's mother, who said she was very proud of her daughter.

Fellow singers Miriam Yeung and Victor Wong Pin Kuan also went on the stage to give their support.

Fish Leong burst onto the Mandopop scene in 1999. She is best known for her love-themed ballads, many of which have become favorites among Karaoke singers.
