A creative fair opened in Shanghai last Saturday, gathering young designers from Shanghai and across the country.

Designers laid their stalls on Shanghai's Chuangzhi Tiandi Plaza, selling their self-created products. This time, most of the products focussed on environmental protection, the Shanghai Evening Post reported on Monday.

Pencils made from wasted newspapers and candlesticks made from empty coke cans: these are the ideas the young designers are selling and are trying to relate to other people.

A designer told the reporter that they made some old materials into new things, thus showing their endless creativity. He also said that of utmost importance is the fact that the products were environmental friendly.
