Chinese Girl Crowned Miss Deaf World 2007

Chinese girl Bao Qingling (C) was crowned Miss Deaf World 2007 in the Miss Deaf World competition on Saturday, July 14, 2007. The title of first vice-miss went to 21-year-old Kristina Weber (L) from Germany, and the second vice-miss to 18-year-old Nila Kudlyk (R) from Ukrain.

Chinese girl Bao Qingling was crowned Miss Deaf World 2007 in the Miss Deaf World competition Saturday.

A total of nineteen girls from 19 countries had competed in the annual contest.

Bao, a 25-year-old dancer from the Dalian troupe of the disabled people, won the title with her superb interpretation of the classical tragic Chinese love story titled Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai.

"I have dreamed of a Miss Deaf World title for so long. My dream comes true in Prague," a tearful Bao told Xinhua in sign language.

The title of first vice-miss went to 21-year-old Kristina Weber from Germany, and the second vice-miss to 18-year-old Nila Kudlyk from Ukraine.
