At least eight people were killed and eight others wounded when a suicide truck bomb struck a police station in Dowr town north of Baghdad on Sunday, a provincial police source told Xinhua.

"A suicide bomber drove an explosive-laden truck into the police station of Dowr, 150 km north of Baghdad, killing at least eight people, including policemen, and wounding eight others," said the source from Salahudin province where the town is located.

The powerful explosion destroyed parts of the police station building, the source said.
