Qian Yunlu      

Qian Yunlu, Han nationality, was born in October 1944. A native of Dawu County, Hubei Province, with a university education background, Qian joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in June 1965.

Beginning his career in September 1967, he once served as deputy secretary of the CPC Hanchuan County Committee and the CPC Dawu County Committee of Hubei Province, magistrate of Dawu County, and secretary of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese Communist Youth League.

Since 1983, he had held the posts of standing committee member and deputy secretary of the CPC Hubei Provincial Committee, and secretary of the CPC Wuhan Municipal Committee.

In 1995, Qian was elected chairman of the Hubei Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

Beginning from December 1998, he successively served as deputy governor and acting governor of Guizhou Province.

In January 1999, he was elected governor of Guizhou Province and appointed secretary of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee by the CPC Central Committee in January 2001.
