CPC to Render Full Support to Chief Executives of Hong Kong, Macao SARs: Jiang

The Chinese Communist Party (CPC) will render full support to the chief executives and governments of the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, Jiang Zemin said in his report to the 16th National Congress of the CPC Friday.

He said that the return of Hong Kong and Macao to the motherland has enriched the concept of "one country, two systems" in both theory and practice.

"Facts prove that 'one country, two systems' is a correct policy and has strong vitality," Jiang said, stressing that "we will resolutely implement this policy and act in strict accordance with the basic laws of Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions."

"We will render full support to the chief executives and governments of the two regions in their work and unite with people from all walks of life there in a joint effort to maintain and promote the prosperity, stability and development of Hong Kong and Macao," Jiang said.
