New CPC Leadership to Implement "Three Representatives": Hu Jintao

Hu Jintao, newly elected general secretary of the Communist Party (CPC) of China Central Committee, said Friday that the new CPC leadership will unswervingly implement the important thought of Three Representatives.

Hu made the remark when meeting the press covering the 16th CPC National Congress.

He said that the congress has established "Three Representatives" as the Party's long-term guiding ideology, on a par with Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought and Deng Xiaoping Theory.

"That's a historical policy decision and a historical contribution," he said.
