CPC Congress Guidelines Conveyed Nationwide by Local Party Committees

Provincial, municipal and autonomous regional committees of the Communist Party of China (CPC) have convened special meetings to convey the guidelines of the 16th CPC National Congress and the First Plenum of the 16th CPC Central Committee to CPC members nationwide.

Leading Party officials of various provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions across the country have indicated that the Party should achieve all of its objectives in the new century by fully implementing the guidelines of the congress through the combined efforts of the Party and people of all ethnic groups in China.

They have agreed that Party members and people of all ethnic groups should study hard, emancipate their mind and follow the Party congress' guidelines in their activities for economic development.

Guided by the important thoughts of the "Three Representatives," local governments should make boosting economic growth a priority task so as to rejuvenate the nation and should take measures to accelerate the pace while taking into account of specific local conditions for economic growth, said sources who participated in the meetings.

Wu Guanzheng, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, secretary of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and secretary of the Shandong Provincial Party Committee, urged CPC members in his province to thoroughly understand and fully implement the guidelines of the 16th CPC National Congress.

Li Changchun, a member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, asked the CPC committees at all levels in his province to study the congress guidelines assiduously, meticulously and from various angles, an undertaking which should be regarded as their primary political task.

Among other leading Party officials taking the lead in the study and promotion sessions of the Party congress guidelines in their Party committees were Wang Lequan, member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and secretary of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Regional Party Committee; as well as Political Bureau members of the CPC Central Committee Liu Qi, Zhang Lichang and Chen Liangyu, respectively secretaries of the CPC Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai municipal committees.
