The participation of Hong Kong star Andy Lau has been confirmed in Crazy Stone director Ning Hao's sequel, Crazy Racer.

Based on Ning Hao's novel Red Bicycle, the film will continue in the same vein as Crazy Stone's black comedy style with a budget of 20 million yuan, or about US$2.5 million.

The film tells the story of two rival mail carriers from different express companies whose flying speed are used by a group of mobsters to deliver dynamite. The film is pegged to start filming at the end of this year.

The original lineup from Crazy Stone will also star in the new Crazy series, including lead actor Guo Tao with Andy Lau playing a traffic cop.

The film is slated to premiere during the Chinese National Day Holiday next year.
