Luo Baoming      

Luo Baoming, of the han ethnic group, is a native of Tianjin Municipality. He was born in October 1952, and joined the Communist Party of China (CPC) in August 1971. He got his Master's degree in History from Nankai University in January 1995.

Luo's educational and employment background is as follows:

May 1969-Dec. 1973: Platoon sergeant of Inner Mongolia Production and Construction Corps.

Dec. 1973-Nov. 1978: Worker of Tianjin No.3 Radio Component Factory.

Nov. 1978-Sep. 1981: Studied in the Chinese Language and Literature Department of Tianjin Teachers' College.

Sep. 1981-Mar. 1983: Staff of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.

Mar. 1984-Nov. 1984: Head of the Research Office of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.

Nov. 1984-Apr. 1992: Deputy secretary, secretary of the Tianjin Municipal Committee of the Communist Youth League of China.

Sep. 1991-Jan. 1995: Working on Master's degree in ancient Chinese history at Nankai University.

Apr. 1992-Jul. 1995: Deputy Party secretary, Party secretary, acting chief, chief of the Dagang District, Tianjin.

Jul. 1995-Oct. 1997: Director of the Tianjin Municipal Commission of Commerce.

Oct.1997-Jul. 2001: Standing member of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee, director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Tianjin Municipal Committee.

Jul. 2001-Jan. 2007: Deputy secretary of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee.

Jan. 2007-Feb. 2007: Acting governor of Hainan Province.

Feb. 2007-: Governor of Hainan Province.

He is an alternate member of the 16th CPC central Committee.
