HK's Law on Food Preserves to Be Updated
Adjust font size:

Hong Kong's law on food preservatives will be updated to meet the international standards and the consultation process will start this year, said the food safety authority Tuesday.

Hong Kong has its own regulations on preserves used in food so far and food safety authority will make reference to relative international standards during its implementation process.

The Center for Food Safety Controller and Expert Committee on Food Safety held a meeting on food safety control Tuesday and said it is necessary to bring Hong Kong's food preserves law in line with international standards and offer the food trade clearer guidelines.
