State Councilor Zhou Yongkang met in Beijing Monday with visiting Turkish Police Department Chief Gokhan Aydiner, calling for the two sides to strengthen cooperation in public security.

Zhou said that China's Ministry of Public Security and Turkish Interior Ministry have witnessed steady and effective cooperation, appreciating Turkey's position of not allowing any separatist activities against China.

China hopes that Turkish police forces will continue to take measures to contain the secessionist activities against China and better protect the life and property of Chinese citizens in Turkey, Zhou said.

Aydiner expressed the hope that Turkey will improve the exchanges and cooperation with China in fields such as anti-terrorism.

Aydiner was in Beijing to attend the second joint working group meeting between China's Ministry of Public Security and Turkish Interior Ministry.
