The Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) wants to boost cooperation with the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) so as to contribute to closer friendly and all-round cooperative ties between the two countries.

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), made the remarks in Hanoi Tuesday when holding talks with VFF Chairman Pham The Duyet.

Jia said the friendly and cooperative relations between China and Vietnam have developed unceasingly in recent years, and China's party and government always treasure the bilateral relations and, along with Vietnam, increase the mutual trust, bringing the ties to a new height.

He put forth six proposals on expanding and deepening the cooperation between the CPPCC and the VFF during the talks.

First, building up frequent exchange mechanisms, and maintaining exchanges of high-ranking delegations.

Second, strengthening friendly exchanges among professional units under the CPPCC and the VFF as well as their related structures, promoting the friendship and cooperation between the two sides in a substantial way.

Third, beefing up exchanges and cooperation among local organizations of the two sides, especially those in border provinces and autonomous regions.

Fourth, putting into play special advantages of having a large pool of talents among the CPPCC and the VFF to foster exchanges and cooperation in different fields of the two countries.

Fifth, actively encouraging the friendly link between youths and teenagers of China and Vietnam, ensuring their traditional friendly and cooperative relations forever.

Sixth, fostering exchanges and cooperation on spheres and issues of mutual concern.

During the talks, Duyet said the relations and cooperation between the VFF and the CPPCC have made new progress in recent years, and his country's party and government are pleased with the achievements.

He said China has gained great triumphs in national construction and development, and the CPPCC has many valuable experiences in political consultation as well as in socio-economic facilitation and the harmonious development of the state.

Duyet said the VFF agreed with Jia's proposals, wanting to promote exchanges with the CPPCC to study and draw lessons from each other, while maintaining high-ranking delegation exchanges, strengthening exchanges of the two organizations' units and local affiliates, intensifying propaganda among the two peoples about putting into play the Vietnam-China traditional friendly ties, and stepping up coordination in the international arena, contributing to ceaseless development of the bilateral ties.

Jia is here for a visit to Vietnam on March 20-24.
