Defense Minister Cao Gangchuan held talks with his Rwandan counterpart Marcel Gatsinzi on Tuesday.

 

China-Rwanda relations have progressed steadily since the two countries established diplomatic ties in 1971, said Cao, who is also vice chairman of the Central Military Commission and a state councilor.

 

The two countries have not only conducted sincere, friendly and fruitful cooperation in various fields, but also backed each other on international affairs, Cao said.

 

China appreciates the Rwandan government's adherence to the one-China policy and support for China's reunification cause, Cao said.

 

Cherishing the ties with Rwandan military forces, the Chinese armed forces would like to promote cooperation with its Rwandan counterparts in various fields, Cao said.

 

Cao also briefed Gatsinzi on China's defense policy and military building.

 

Hailing sound Rwanda-China cooperation in political, economic and military fields, Gatsinzi said he expected the two countries would step up cooperation in personnel training and other fields.
