Thai Princess Appointed as Zhejiang University's Honorary Professor

Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn on Thursday visited the prestigious Zhejiang University in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang Province, and was appointed an honorary professor.

 

Sirindhorn said at the appointment ceremony that she was delighted with the visit, and she hopes the Zhejiang University can carry out further cooperation with Thai universities in such areas as computer science, biomedical engineering, technology, linguistics and humanities.

 

She also stressed the role universities played in pushing forward social development.

 

Secretary of the Zhejiang University Committee of the Communist Party of China Zhang Xi presented the certificate, school badge and souvenirs to Sirindhorn.

 

Sirindhorn also visited the library and the national laboratory for clean energy utilization at the university, as well as some places of interest in Hangzhou, a well-known tourism city of China.
