China is ready to work with Hungary to enhance exchanges and cooperation in the judicial field, said a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

Luo Gan, member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, made the remarks in a meeting with Zoltan Lomnici, president of the supreme court of Hungary.

Hungary is one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with China, Luo said, noting that the two countries in recent years have witnessed frequent high-level visits, enhanced mutual political trust, and fruitful cooperation in economy, science, technology, culture and education.

The two countries have also strengthened exchanges in the judicial field in recent years, Luo said, adding he believes that the visit of Lomnici would further promote bilateral judicial exchanges and cooperation and contribute to the development of bilateral friendly relations.

Luo briefed the visitors on China's policy of taking a road of peaceful development and its development in legal system, saying China will learn from judicial experience of other countries.

Luo also spoke highly of Hungarian government's one-China stance.

Lomnici said Hungary respects Chinese people's choice of its road for development and supports the development of friendly relations between China and the European Union countries.

Lomnici expressed the hope that the two sides would boost bilateral judicial cooperation.

Lomnici is in Beijing on a visit to China from May 7 to 12 as a guest of the Supreme People's Court of China.
