China Donates Meteorological Equipment to Bangladesh

The Chinese Meteorological Administration donated a set of meteorological satellite equipment to Bangladesh Meteorological Department in Dhaka Tuesday.

 

Chinese Charge D'affaires to Bangladesh He Lanjing and Bangladeshi Defense Ministry Joint Secretary Brigadier General Uddin Iqbal attended the handing over ceremony and signed the certificates on behalf of their governments.

 

He Lanjing said at the ceremony the relationship between China and Bangladesh has been gradually strengthened and promoted over the last 31 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

 

She said the two countries have very good cooperation in politics, economy and culture, and hoped the two sides can further strengthen the exchange and cooperation in meteorological area.

 

Uddin expressed the thankfulness to the donation by China and said he hoped China could help Bangladesh develop the meteorogical industry.

 

The donation is under the Voluntary Cooperation Program of the World Meteorological Organization.

 

Bangladesh Meteorological Department is under the leadership of defense ministry.
