Adjust font size:

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan said Monday that China will firmly promote the process of the six-party talks on the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue.

Tang made the remarks in a phone conversation with Secretary of State of the US Condoleezza Rice on Monday, according to sources with the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

He said no matter what happens, China will firmly safeguard peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula and promote the process of the six-party talks to realize the goal of a nuclear-free Korean Peninsula.

China hopes all parties concerned will make joint constructive efforts for the above goal, said Tang.
