The third China-Russia Women's Culture Week is to be held in Beijing, Shanghai and Suzhou from October 19 to 25, sources with the All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) said yesterday.

A high-ranking delegation of 59 Russians from all walks of life, including women parliament members, actresses, painters, representatives of women's organizations and celebrities will attend the event, one of the main activities of the "Year of Russia in China."

A forum will be organized for Chinese and Russian women to exchange views on women's development and discuss relations between women and politics, economics and society.

A contemporary art exhibition of Chinese and Russian women painters will be held in Beijing, and Chinese and Russian artists will give performances.

Russian delegates will also visit communities, factories and colleges in the eastern Chinese cities of Shanghai and Suzhou.

China-Russia Women's Culture Week is organized under the framework of the Women's Committee of the China-Russia Friendship Committee for Peace and Development.

The first such culture week was held in 2002 in Beijing and Shanghai, the second in Moscow and St. Petersburg in 2004.
