China, Mexico Exchange Greetings on 35th Anniversary of Ties

President Hu Jintao and Premier Wen Jiabao on Wednesday exchanged congratulatory messages respectively with Mexican President Felipe Calderon to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

 

In his message, President Hu said China-Mexico relations have been developing smoothly since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1972.

 

Especially after the establishment of bilateral strategic partnership in 2003, bilateral exchanges and cooperation in politics, economy and trade, culture and other fields have gradually deepened, Hu said.

 

He added that the two countries have strengthened consultations and coordination in international and regional issues.

 

The president said that the friendly and mutually beneficial cooperation have maintained a good momentum.

 

Further promoting bilateral relations and strengthening mutually beneficial cooperation serve the fundamental interests of the two peoples and will be conducive to the two countries' own endeavor of construction and development, he said.

 

"China is willing to work together with Mexico to push forward the China-Mexico strategic partnership and create a bright future for bilateral relations," the president added.

 

Premier Wen said in his message that China and Mexico are friendly countries.

 

Thanks to joints efforts from both sides, bilateral cooperation in various fields has expanded and witnessed remarkable achievements in the past 35 years, the premier said.

 

He said that China is willing to work together with Mexico to consolidate and further promote bilateral cooperation of mutual benefit, which will benefit the two countries and two peoples.

 

President Calderon said that the friendly relations between China and Mexico are of strategic, comprehensive and long-term nature.

 

He said that bilateral relations have been developing vigorously and yielded eye-catching results.

 

The president vowed to strengthen bilateral relations in various fields and tap the potential of cooperation.

 

He added that Mexico will work together with china to promote the Mexico-China strategic partnership and explore new possibilities of cooperation.

 

On the same day, Foreign Minister Li Zhaoxing also exchanged congratulatory messages with his Mexican counterpart Patricia Espinosa Cantellano.
