Adjust font size:

A two-day first meeting of the Pakistan-India Joint Anti-Terror Mechanism will be held in Islamabad today.

Foreign Secretary Tariq Usman Haider will head the Pakistani delegation, while his counterpart K. C. Singh will lead the Indian side.

The Indian probe into the trans-border train firebombing might highlight in the meeting.

Pakistan has asked the Indian government to share information on its investigation into the Feb. 18 firebombing of Pakistan- bound Samjhauta Express in which 68 people, mostly Pakistanis, were killed.

The two countries decided to institutionalize an India-Pakistan joint anti-terrorism mechanism to identify and implement counter- terrorism initiatives and investigations, during a meeting Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in Havana last September.
