State Councilor Meets Myanmar Guests

State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan met in Beijing Tuesday with a delegation of Myanmar State Peace and Development Council led by its First Secretary Thein Sein.

 

Tang said China and Myanmar are friendly neighbors and their mutually-beneficial cooperation in various fields have produced remarkable results.

 

China will further the good-neighborly relationship with Myanmar and promote pragmatic cooperation in trade and drug enforcement, Tang said.

 

Thein Sein briefed Tang on the domestic situation in Myanmar. Tang said China sincerely hoped Myanmar could maintain stability, national concord and economic development, which serve the interests of Myanmar people and are conducive to regional peace, stability and development.

 

Thein Sein said Myanmar will strengthen exchanges and cooperation with China, and Myanmar appreciates China's support and assistance to its national construction and economic development.

 

Thein Sein is on an official good-will visit to China from June5 to 10 at the invitation of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress.
