Two explosions occurred at a residential building that houses federal police officers in a Mexican resort city, local W Radio reported on Tuesday.

 

The grenades exploded outside the building's guardhouse and in a passageway respectively on late Monday in the town of Ixtapa in the state of Guerrero, some 300 km southwest of the capital, causing no casualties.

 

The explosions came just hours before outgoing President Vicente Fox and President-elect Felipe Calderon arrived in the area to attend a business activity.

 

But the police said no evidence has been found so far that connected their visit with the explosions, noting that the investigation was still underway.
