Australia Improves Visa Access for Hungarians
Adjust font size:

Hungarians will be able to obtain electronic tourist visa to Australia and business visa for stays of up to three months from July 1, the Australian Embassy reported in a statement on Monday.

From January 15, some eligible Hungarians applying via the internet for tourist visa of less than three months will have their visa granted immediately after lodging their application online, the embassy said.

Hungarian Foreign Ministry's spokesman Viktor Polgar said that the decision was a favorable change in Australia's non-unified regulations regarding EU member states. He said it was also the Australian government's recognition of the Hungarian citizens' improving compliance rate with the visa criteria.

The internet-based e676 service allows citizens of certain countries to apply on the internet for their visa anywhere in the world 24 hours a day and seven days a week.
