The ongoing 19th Yuyuantan Park Cherry Blossom Festival is attracting flocks of visitors from home and abroad. The 38-day festival will lasts from March 24 to April 30.
This year, Yuyuantan Park has presented to the public nearly 2000 cherry trees of over 20 species, which come into full blossom at slightly different time periods. Therefore, though the cherry blossom lasts usually no more than seven days, visitors have a more flexible timetable for their springtime outing.
Besides the cherry blossom, the ongoing snack fair becomes another attraction. People feast on various snacks from different parts of China after viewing cherry blossoms. Legacies left by the temple fair of spring festival folk culture that was held in the park earlier this year are still visible. Visitors can take the chance to photo red cherry lanterns hung everywhere and appreciate the display of minority cultures in the park.
Located west of the city center of Beijing, the Yuyuantan Park is famous for its cherry blossoms in the springtime.
