Wild Ducks Flee Warm Winter in Shanghai
Adjust font size:

Wild geese and ducks fled the city last winter - an unusually warm one, reports Shanghai's Greenery Administrative Bureau, Shanghai Daily reported.

Only one-tenth of those that wintered here in 2005 stayed in the city last winter. Just 6,339 wild geese and ducks were counted last December, accounting for 9.77 percent of the number the same period in 2005.

Last year's water birds survey recorded 117 bird species, including three endangered species spotted for the first time.
