The agreement was signed by China.org.cn Editor-in-chief Wang Xiaohui and TASS Director-general Sergey Mihaylov at the Third China-Russia Media Forum held during Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia.

The two sides have agreed to cooperate in the fields of reporting, new media convergence and staff exchange, in a bid to deepen mutual understanding and boost people-to-people exchange between the two nations.

The years 2016 and 2017 have been tapped as the China-Russia Media Exchange Year, designed to create new opportunities and impetus for media cooperation between the two countries. Much headway has been made since then regarding media cooperation and cultural exchange.
