The movie Sun Also Rises directed by Chinese actor-cum-director Jiang Wen has passed the content examination of the Film Bureau, and will be sent to the Cannes Film Festival to compete for the Golden Palm this year.

The content of this movie has successfully passed the examination without any cuts to its plot.

Director Jiang Wen and his wife Zhou Yun took the leading roles in this movie. Actress Chen Chong, singer Cui Jian and Hong Kong actors Anthony Wong and Jaycee Chan were also included in the movie.

The film has taken over one year and cost US$10 million, becoming Jiang Wen's third film production, and following Devils on the Doorstep, which he shoot 7 years ago.

Japanese film music master Joe Hisaishi has also been invited to compose incidental music for the movie.

Jiang Wen is currently in France, completing editing of the film. It will then once again be presented to the Film Bureau for a technical examination.
