Following a top-selling European tour and a 41-city sold-out United States tour, American pop star Christina Aguilera is bringing her world tour to Shanghai.

The one-night-only concert, as part of her "Back to Basics" 2007 world tour, will be held at the Shanghai Grand Stage on June 26. It will be the Grammy winner's debut on the Chinese mainland.

Tickets, costing from 200 yuan (US$26) to 2,000 yuan, go on sale today.

They are available on two hotlines (6481-2039, 404-707-9999) and the Internet (www.emma.cn).

The Shanghai Grand Stage has a capacity of 8,400.

The concert will feature a unique stage design, said Jonathan Krane, president and CEO of the local organizer Emma Entertainment.

The stage will be illuminated by more than 600 moving lights and feature a state-of-the-art hydraulic system.

Aguilera is known for her provocative dance routines and lyrics. She has found success with hit songs including Dirrty. Her second album was called Stripped.

Aguilera has sold more than 25 million albums worldwide, scored four No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and has won four Grammy Awards and a Latin Grammy Award.

Her Asian tour will start on June 18 in Osaka, Japan. Apart from Shanghai, she will also perform in Tokyo, Seoul, Bangkok, Hong Kong and Manila.
