Chinese pop singer Li Yuchun, the winner of 2005 "Super Girl" contest, and pop veteran Jeff Chang received their 2006 Music Radio Awards in Shanghai on Tuesday June 26.

Li Yuchun and Jeff Chang were among the winners of the Top Ten Golden Melodies on the 2006 Music Radio China Top Music Chart, an annual event organized by the Music Radio channel of China National Radio.

Li Yuchun won the golden melody award in the Chinese mainland and Jeff Chang took the award in the Hong Kong and Taiwan region.

"I sing for the music rather than for awards," said 23-year-old Li Yuchun at a news conference on Tuesday. "But I do hope I can win awards like Best Female Singer and Best Selling Female Singer, as these awards mean a lot to a singer's career."

She is now busy producing her second album, slated for release in late September or early October.

The awards ceremony is scheduled on June 29 on the Shanghai Grand Stage.
