Chinese to Mourn Crosstalk Artist Hou Yaowen on July 7

A memorial ceremony to commemorate the famous crosstalk performer, Hou Yaowen, has been confirmed to be held on July 7th in Beijing's Babaoshan cemetery.

 

 

Hou's student Jia Lun told The Beijing News.

 

The report says that Hou Yaowen's colleagues, students and friends will attend the ceremony to pay their last respects to the artist."

 

Hou Yaowen, the son of the late crosstalk master Hou Baolin, had learnt crosstalk from a young age. He started to perform on stage in 1960 and was deeply loved by both Chinese and foreign audiences.

 

He died of heart disease at the age of 59 at his home in Beijing on June 23.
