Danish band's new song honors Cui Jian

The pop Danish band "Michael Learns To Rock" has adapted the classic song Yi Wu Suo You (Nothing to My Name) on their new album, I Walk This Road Alone, the West China Metropolis Daily reported on Tuesday.

Like the original Nothing to My Name, which was written by Cui Jian, dubbed as China's "Godfather of Rock 'N' Roll", the Danish band's I Walk This Road Alone is a love song accompanied by Chinese instruments like the bamboo flute.

According to the three members of the band, they chose this song in honor of Cui.

The soft rock band already adapted Hong Kong pop king Jacky Cheung's classic song, Kiss Goodbye into Take Me To Your Heart, which was hailed by Chinese fans who honored them with "Best International Band'' at the CCTV-MTV Music Awards in 2004.

An assistant for Cui said that he authorized "Michael Learns To Rock" to adapt Nothing to My Name several years ago, and he thinks the new song is a success.
