More than 24,000 fans poured into Taipei's Pan-Chiao Stadium for Jay Chou's concert on Saturday night. Despite the huge crowd, the pop king didn't earn a penny from it.

According to the general manager of Jay Chou's company, although the over 90 percent attendance rate brought in about 3.5 million New Taiwan dollars (NTD) in revenue, this was still not enough to cover the 4.5 million NTD price tag of the extravaganza, Hong Kong-based news agency Tungstar reported.

Jay's singing friends Will Pan, Alan Ke and Fei Yuqing guest starred at the concert for free. Alan Ke joked, "I nearly burst into tears when Jay invited me."

Jay Chou released his latest album on November 1. The Taiwan concert marks the start of his 2007 world tour. His future stops will include Shanghai, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
