A 2-minute film clip of the action epic The Forbidden Kingdom, the first joint effort by Kung Fu superstars Jet Li and Jackie Chan, has been uploaded to the Internet, Hunan-based Rednet.cn reported.

The leaked footage reveals some major characters and their fates, but the much-anticipated Jet Li versus Jackie Chan fighting scenes aren't in this "trailer". The clip borrowed music from Zhang Yimou's Hero and Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon for background music.

The Forbidden Kingdom was shot from May to August in China. The independent studio Lionsgate has scheduled the film for release next April.

Rob Minkoff, who made Stuart Little and The Lion King, directed the movie. The screenplay is based on the classical Chinese fantasy novel Journey to the West. Yuen Wo Ping, who helped with The Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill films, did the superb fight choreography.

The production company has not yet responded to the new footage by saying it was legal or leaked.
