Faye Wong may perform at Olympic charity event
Adjust font size:

Chinese pop diva Faye Wong may attend China Central Television's Olympic charity event, "You Are the Torch Holder," on January 10 in Beijing, her first public performance since her withdrawal last year.

The newspaper Chongqing Times reported on Sunday that the event, focused on the moving stories of Olympic torch bearers and the grand mission of the torch relay, is the most important charity event centered on Olympic torch holders since their selection.

According to the director of the event, Faye Wong has been invited to sing at the benefit. Because of the charity angle of the event, the performance doesn't signal Faye Wong's future return to the stage.

The pop diva has devoted herself to charity activities for the Smile Angel Foundation, also known as Yanran Angel Foundation, founded by Faye Wong and her actor husband Li Yapeng to help children with cleft palates.
