A pair of comedy debuts grabbed top positions at North American box office this weekend, the movie industry's tracking firm Media By Numbers reported Sunday.

Fool's Gold and Welcome Home Roscoe Jenkins debuted in number one and number two respectively over the three-day period, with estimated 22 million and 17.1 million dollars in ticket sales, according to the Los Angeles-based firm.

Disney's 3-D Hannah Montana film held onto third position despite a 66 percent drop in box office. The film is estimated to sell 10.5 million dollars this weekend, for an accumulated 53.4 million dollars in sales since its release last week.

The Eye, a Lionsgate's remake of a 2002 Hong Kong horror hit, slipped two slots to the fourth with 6.6 million dollars over the weekend, while Oscar-nominated teenage pregnancy comedy June remained steady in the fifth with 5.7 million dollars after 10 weeks in release.
