Eason Chan's moving on to Shanghai
Adjust font size:

Hong Kong'S vocal powerhouse Eason Chan, whose songs have topped many mainland karaoke charts, is in Shanghai to promote his "Eason's Moving On" concert.

A week after a Guangzhou appearance, Chan's concert will be staged at Shanghai Stadium on April 26.

Because he is known as a "skilled musician" rather than a "singing idols" of Hong Kong's music industry, the Shanghai concert has already sold three million yuan (US$417,000) worth of tickets.

Chan says he will perform in a natural and spontaneous way adding a rock-and-roll flavor to his dancing.

"The show will feature some theatrical elements and a variety of avant-garde costumes matching the themes of the songs," Chan said.

Fans will hear his classics "Servant under Skirt" and "White Rose" and a new song "Keep Walking" with striking visual staging.

In recent years Chan's movies and albums have proved popular. Chan himself has been named Hong Kong's Best-Selling Male Singer and Best Male Pop Singer.

He will soon join the Olympic Torch Relay and is planning to write a song for games.
