A cold front would bring strong winds and temperature drops in most parts of northern China over the coming three days to Sept. 22, the China Meteorological Administration (CMA) forecast Saturday.

Affected by the cold front, areas in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, provinces of Shaanxi and Gansu, and northeast China will brace for strong winds and a temperature drop by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius.

Temperature in some of the regions would experience a sharp plunge of 12 to 16 degrees Celsius, the CMA said.

Heavy rain or rain storms are forecast over the three days in northeastern parts of Inner Mongolia, central and southern parts of Shaanxi, Chongqing, and parts of Guizhou and Yunnan provinces.
