China will build its first park to demonstrate the uses of solar power in Yanqing county.

Initial plans call for the park to cover about 10 hectares, according to Beijing Youth Daily.

It will include China's first carbon-free solar energy museum, which will be between 3,000 and 5,000 square meters. The museum, which will be finished next year, will be open to the public as a base for scientific education.

Yanqing has a rich source of solar energy, terrestrial heat and wind energy. Renewable resources account for 15 percent of energy consumption in the county.
