Police recently rescued three tiger cubs that were kidnapped from a zoo in Puyang, Henan province, and sold to a circus in Anhui province's Suzhou last month.

One of the two men accused of abducting the 3-month-old cubs after anesthetizing them on Aug 14 was arrested late last month. The second suspect is still at large.

The police said the accused sold the three tiger cubs to the circus for a total of 215,000 yuan ($31,650).

The tiger cubs have been returned to the Puyang Zoo.
