Greenpeace International Thursday calls for delegates to the latest round of UN climate change talks in Tianjin to speed up negotiations as climate change worsens. The NGO set up a huge iceberg in front of the Meijiang Exhibition Center, where the conference is being held, a reminder that melting ice sheets make it harder for polar bears to survive. According to Greenpeace, only 30 percent of today’s polar bear population will remain by 2050. [Zhang Fang/China.org.cn]
