A new cold front will hit north China and bring down temperatures over the next three days, the National Meteorological Center (NMC) said Tuesday.
As the previous cold front moved south, temperatures in some parts of northeast China had risen by more than 10 degrees Celsius, according to NMC's online statement.
North and northeast China regions would see higher temperatures on Tuesday, with highest temperature in Beijing and Tianjin to exceed 10 degrees Celsius in the daytime.
But the NMC said the new cold front to enter the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on Wednesday would drive down temperatures by 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in most north China regions and by more than 8 degrees Celsius in some parts.
Slight and moderate snow or sleet and some snowstorms are expected in north Xinjiang, eastern Tibet Autonomous Region, western Sichuan Province, central and eastern Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and western Heilongjiang Province over the next three days, the statement said.
