Magnitude 6.3 quake jolts east coast of Japan

An earthquake measuring 6.3 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan on Wednesday, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said.

The earthquake occurred at 04:44 local time Thursday (1844 Wednesday GMT) and was some 2 kilometers deep, the USGS said.
