A strong wave of black dust storm hit ten Yemeni provinces, including the capital Sanaa on Sunday, reducing visibility to almost zero in parts of the country.

Besides Sanaa, the blinding dust storm also hit provinces of Al- Mahra, Hadramout, Shabwa, Al-Jouf, Marib, Saada, Amran, Al-Bayda and Dhamar, according to a statement of the National Center for Meteorology.

Local media News Yemen cited an official source at the Sanaa International Airport as saying that "there was no problem for the planes to take off, but there were difficulties in landing so we diverted the incoming planes of Sanaa airport to other airports due to the intensity of dust."
