Drought-hit areas to welcome moderate to heavy rain

The drought-hit areas in middle and lower reaches of Yangtze River valley will welcome obvious rain in the next three days, China Meteorological Administration said Today.
According to the latest forecast of CMA, there will be moderate to heavys rain with isolated torrential rain falling the souther part of Hubei Province, northern part of Hunan Province, northern part of Jiangxi Province, most parts of Zhejiang Province and southern parts of Jiangsu and Anhui provinces from June 3 to June 5.
The rainfall will alleviate drought in the provinces "to various extent," it said. The severe drought started in April and resulted in lack of drinking water for millions of people in the five provinces of Jiangsu, Anhui, Jiangxi, Hubei, and Hunan.
