The South Pacific island nation of Fiji on Saturday took an initiative to raise awareness on climate change.

The initiative saw a march take place from Suva Point to Suva Grammar School and back again before speeches and activities to be held at Suva Point.

According to the initiative's communications director Ewan Cameron, it is a new initiative aimed at raising awareness on how small countries like Fiji need to speak out on climate change.

Meanwhile, a total of 18 Pacific island countries this morning also joined hands with Fiji in raising awareness on climate change.
