Snow forecasted in NE China, rain in south

China's meteorological authority said Tuesday that snow is likely to fall in northeastern regions over the coming two days, while rainy weather will continue in the south.

Eastern parts of Heilongjiang province and central-eastern parts of Jilin province will see heavy snow from March 6-7, with some parts in Jilin expected to receive snow of up to 12 millimeters on the ground, the National Meteorological Center said.

Overcast weather and rain will continue in south China from March 6-8, the center said, forecasting heavy rain in the provinces of Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Fujian, Guangdong and Hunan, with accumulated precipitation to reach as much as 80 millimeters during the period.

On Tuesday, a rainstorm is expected to hit western parts of Fujian, southeastern parts of Jiangxi, and northern parts of Guangdong, according to the center.
