6.9-magnitude earthquake hits Vanuatu

An earthquake measuring 6.9 on the Richter scale jolted Vanuatu at 3:09 p.m. Beijing Time on Friday, said the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC).
The epicenter was monitored at 19.1 degrees south latitude and 169.6 degrees east longitude with a depth of 30 km, according to the CENC.
