Typhoon Damrey made landfall in east China's Jiangsu Province on Thursday night, bringing gales and rains to Jiangsu and its neighbouring Shandong Province.

Damrey, the tenth typhoon of the year, came ashore near the Chenjiagang Township of Xiangshui County around 9:30 p.m., packing winds of 126 km/h near its center, according to China's National Meteorological Center.

The storm has brought precipitations to 21 counties in the southern coastal areas of Shandong, local meteorological authorities said. It is moving northwest at a speed of 30 km/h.
