5.0-M quake hits off east coast of Honshu, Japan

An earthquake measuring 5.0 on the Richter scale jolted off the east coast of Honshu, Japan at 14:21: 40 GMT on Tuesday (22:21:40 Beijing Time), the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 26.10 km, was initially determined to be at 36.1214 degrees north latitude and 142.3052 degrees east longitude.
